In 1747 Jean de Galimard, who lived in the city of Gras, founded a perfumery Galimard. At that period he supplied the court of Louis XV “the well-beloved”, King of France, with olive oil, pomades, and perfumes, the first formulas of which he invented himself. Nowadays the perfumery Galimard glorifies the region and gathers thoroughly the fragrances of Gras’ nature.

You may discover the secrets of perfumes production and master this art during the free visit of Galimard plants in Gras or Eze-village being accompanied by guide.

In Gras the visitors will see an impressive collection of museum articles and old perfume apparatus. The tourists will also learn the main principles of the perfumer’s craft.

Eze-Village, charming medieval city, houses a museum of antique bottles of perfume and handicraft soap factory Galimard providing all the shops with its products. During the peak seasons the excursions may be organized in Russian.

In Gourdon, fascinating village in the outskirts of Gras, Old Distilling fabric is waiting for visitors. Interested person will be able to feast their eyes upon flower fields of Gourdon.

In the city of Gras the perfumery Galimard gives its visitors a unique chance to create their own perfume in the Studio des Fragrances! The studio’s visitors will be explained the architecture of a good perfume, they will have the opportunity to evaluate their sense of smell, familiarize themselves to the classification of main sorts of odours and their typical components, in addition they will learn the secret of harmonious combination of fragrances.
